STL Regional 2011 - Day 2 Update

And with the end of the second day of competition of the FRC St. Louis Regional things have really heated up! Tons of fun and hard work all around by not only RAVEN Robotics but every FIRST team there. Learn what we did after the break!

  • Tons of work done
  • Autonomous mode now scores every time on the strait lines
  • We can score about 3 tubes per game now (4 if you include the uber-tube).
  • Mini-bot deployment works most of the time
  • The mini-bot, despite passing inspection was too tall in a match and got us Red Carded (ouch!)
    • So we fixed the design to avoid that violation but it now has more trouble getting up the pole, we found a solution though
  • We won the Imagery Award for heaving a great looking team and robot! Awesome!
  • We had some troubles during matches and are currently ranked 25th out of 28, but there appears to be an error with the scoring system so we are not sure where we stand.

Dean Kamen was at he regional briefly and not only gave us an awesome speech, but also unveiled his new LED light-bulbs to sell at $20 a piece! RAVEN Robotics can not wait to sell them.

It was again an exhausting but still fun. Tomorrow is going to be the biggest day of competition, and the last! For more information on the FRC St. Louis Regional be sure to stop by our article explaining everything you need to know.

Here's some photos from today, you can find all of these and more in our Gallery. The pictures are more than just our team, we have tons of shots from everything including other teams' robots and tons of fun stuff. Hope to see everyone tomorrow at the final day of competition at 8:00am!
