2/20/11 Build Update

So our last Sunday meeting is over and things are wrapping up both on the robot and time wise. If you weren't there here's what you missed:

  • We attached two decorative purple plexi-glass sides to the arm and had everyone on the team sign it.
  • Finished attaching the underglow and connected it. It looks awesome!
  • More driving and getting used to the robot's unique-ness.
  • Made a motorized deployment system for the mini-bot
  • Finished the safety tokens crate.
  • Attached the minibot deployment system, but it is not wired in.
  • The potentiometer code works after tons of time playing with it. It still needs more fine tuning.
  • Autonomous mode also got worked on, added timing to the arm so it can score.
  • It appears that the underglow does not adversely affect the line tracers
  • Re-attached the kicker to the 2010 robot and added some underglow to it too for our FOX 2 news interview.
  • Made a frame for the robot to sit on so the lights do not get crushed.

Only one day left, and we have to ship it then too. The next [and last] meeting is tomorrow (2/21/11) from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. We will finish the robot and pack it up. So be there.

If you did not get to sign the robot today and want to sign it, make sure to be at the meeting tomorrow!

(Note: many pics show blue underglow, that is because violet is towards the end of the spectrum these cameras can detect so it only sees the blue wavelength light coming from it, but we assure you the light is purple.)
